It is aimed at identifying Quranic talents in the country who are gifted in recitation of the Holy Book, Iqra24 website reported.
According to this plan, proficient and outstanding reciters from Quranic schools will be identified, and they will receive comprehensive training courses on Qara’at Ashar (the ten styles of recitation).
Enhancing the recitation skills of the talented individuals and training a new generation of skillful qaris who represent the genuine Egyptian school of recitation are among the objectives of the plan.
Al-Azhar Deputy Muhammad al-Zuwaini said this initiative is part of Al-Azhar’s efforts to promote and spread Quranic culture.
It will play a significant role in nurturing reciters who can recite correctly and strengthen Egypt’s cultural identity, he added.
Special training courses for this initiative will soon be announced through the Al-Azhar website and the official Facebook page of Al-Azhar Mosque.
The courses will be conducted in collaboration with specialized groups and experts from Al-Azhar.
